Departments of Economics
This has been an Important Subject right from the date of establishment of this college. The number of student opting for this subject at the higher level of Studies is less because of its mathematical nature. The student’s studing Economics try to co- relate their syllabus with economics problems.
During the academic session in all classes 193 students are enrolled. In the first year the first paper is theoretical and hence the graph tables related to the theory are drawn on the board and taught to them. The Students are asked question and based on the manner they reply their problems are solved on analytical method. As the burning economics problems are related to practical and real life situation the students are made aware of these with first hand information /published in the dailies, magazines, etc. We try to make the topic profound on the basis of material available in their books and the matter published in the dailies and newspapers we also make efforts to enrich their knowledge by convening seminars and symposia. How to answer the question is also thought to them.
Every question paper is divided into units. Unit wise objective question are prepared. The method to write short and long answer question are also taught. Monthly test are conducted. The valuation is thus done. They are guided suitably based on this valuation .Important point like Geometry, Graf, tables, Mathematic and vital points are written on the blackboard and these are explained to them.
For conducting classes classroom facility is available. Adequate furniture is also there. Library facility is also there for deep study .Two books are issued to the students at a time which they can take home, study and prepare notes. After returning the books on due dates they can take two more books .The students are motivated encouraged to study text books for special study The Students avail themselves of the facility of news magazines also. If felt necessary special classes are also conducted. Students are taught in smart class according their time table.
After graduating from this college they pursue their studies for post graduation. Some of them appear in competitive examination also .The Student Take part in co-curriculler activities also enthusiastically.
Faculty Profile-adequacy and Competency of faculty
The Beginning of Economics Department is from the establishment year (1984) of this college. In Economics Department one post is sanctioned on the behalf of the govt. Therefore it is one man department and the in charge of the department is Dr.(smt.)Amol Manjrekar. Students select this subject according to their interest .Due to Economics is related with economic-problems as well as Professional field, it has its own important place. The dept helps to update the knowledge of students by introducing them time to time with current problems. Continuous efforts are made in this connection.
Student Profile-entry level competencies, socio economic status, language proficiency etc.
Students of all classes have their representation in the department. As there is single girls college in the district that’s why girls students of surrounding villages of district used to take admission in the college. Mostly students belong to backward class-community. Due to it they are very weak in English Language.
Changes made in the courses or programs during the past five years and the contribution of the faculty to those changes.
From 2008-09 the semester system was introduced. In the Govt. College in Which 6 semester were proposed for graduation level and two papers for each subject. But from 2011-12 Single paper was proposed for each subject. The exam of 1st , 3rd, 5th sem. are held in Nov-Dec and 2nd, 4th and 6th sem. examination are held in March- April . During every semester one CCE is taken under proposed Particular mode. To promote students for job .Some job oriented projects are implemented in 6th SEM. From 2017-18 annual pattern of exam is again started and CCE are replaced in quarterly and half yearly exams in Sept. and Dec. respectively. According to university time table exams are conducted in March & April with I st and IInd paper of every subject.
Trends in the success and dropout rate of students during the past five years
The department has recorded near about to 94 % to 100 % of success rate in U.G Programme. Dropout rate of students during the past two years in the department is around 2 to3%.

Modern teaching methods practiced and use of ICT in teaching/learning
The department follows conversations, question answer methods, survey methods, group discussions. Sometimes computer and LCD Projector are also used in teaching/learning.Every student is suggested to make her own E-mail ID so they are using the practice of ICT learning.To remain update and to get subject knowledge the facility of internet is also provided to them.
Participation of teachers in academic and personal counseling of students.
For the enhancement of academic standard of girl’s students, time -to-time through discussion, they are encouraged for conversation on practical problems. Students used to enrich their knowledge through magazines of library.The faculty participated in worhshop as a subject expert conducted in ashta gov. college for preparing question bank on 17-04-12.

As per the instructions of the University and Dept of Higher education evaluation of Exam Papers and CCEs are done.
Achievements
Most of the students from the department are computer literate. Students are motivated to learn presentation skills and communication in the class and also participate in the co-curricular activities. Students are trained to prepare there project report and CCEs at their own. The result of the department has been very good in the past 5 years.
